Traditional Chinese Medicine Initial consultation:
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a long history of treating a wide range of both chronic and acute
health conditions. TCM is based on five modalities: exercise, nutrition, acupuncture, herbal medicine, and
massage. Acupuncture is the most widely recognized branch within TCM. Acupuncture has been shown to
help in a wide variety of conditions including the symptoms of: anxiety, stress, back pain, sciatica, arthritis,
allergies, infertility, irritable bowel syndrome, weight loss, chronic fatigue, migraine, and insomnia. TCM
treatment starts with a comprehensive assessment. The holistic assessment may include verbal history
taking, observation, palpation, pulse taking, and observation of the tongue. Depending on the assessment,
specific acupuncture points will be selected to regulate and normalize the flow of Qi, throughout the
meridians. After treatment, Rob will provide you with personalized advice on lifestyle, nutritional, exercise,
and he may prescribe you an herbal formula if needed. Follow-up TCM diagnosis and treatment: Some
conditions may require follow-up treatments and advice. After pulse taking and tongue observation, a brief
reassessment will be made, followed by acupuncture.
